Rococo featured exuberant decoration, later than an abundance of curves, counter-curves, undulations and elements modeled upon nature. The exteriors of Rococo buildings are often simple, though the interiors are no question dominated by their ornament. The style was severely theatrical, intended to impress and awe at first sight.
