Rococo featured exuberant decoration, past an abundance of curves, counter-curves, undulations and elements modeled upon nature. The exteriors of Rococo buildings are often simple, while the interiors are agreed dominated by their ornament. The style was intensely theatrical, intended to impress and awe at first sight. Floor plans of churches were often complex, featuring interlocking ovals; In palaces, grand stairways became centrepieces, and offered interchange points of view of the decoration.[14]The style often integrated painting, molded stucco, and wood carving, and quadratura, or illusionist ceiling paintings, which were intended to have the funds for the tone that the those entering the room were looking taking place at the sky, where cherubs and supplementary figures were gazing beside at them. Materials used included included stucco, either painted or left white; combinations of alternating colored woods; lacquered wood in the Japanese style, and assistant of gilded bronze. The intent was to make an atmosphere of surprise, awe and astonishment on first view.
